| Csa International And Canon Canada Inc. Announce A Voluntary Recall Of Desktop Copiers For Repair |
TORONTO, ON – September 29, 2006 – In cooperation with CSA International, Canon Canada Inc., of Mississauga, Ontario is voluntarily recalling, for possible repair, a small number of low volume copiers in Canada. A faulty connection involving the power cord for the fixing unit heater, may have occurred in some of these copiers due to human error at the time of manufacture or during servicing. A limited number of these units may present a risk of smoke emission or fire.
Canon Canada Inc. has received no reports of any incidents in Canada resulting from a possible faulty connection in the affected copiers.
The repair recall includes only the following Canon copiers: PC6, PC6RE, PC65, PC7, PC7RE, PC8, PC11, PC11RE, PC12, NP1010 and NP1020. The model number is on the front panel of the unit. The copiers were sold by dealers, national retailers and office supply stores from January 1987 through December 1999. This product advisory does not affect any current Canon models, nor any Canon imageRUNNER, Color Image RUNNER, Color Laser Copier, imageCLASS, imagePROGRAF or other PC or NP models.
