The six categories of information that must be provided to CSA International – as noted in the User Guide - are shown in the table below with a description. This table only provides a general description.

- Description of the functional, performance and interface requirements of the overall system; include error codes with required user actions

- List of the identified risks of the product
- Results of the analysis of events or combination of events that may lead to the identified hazard(s) (Fault Tree)
- FMEA

Programmable system architecture |
- Description of the overall system showing the software and hardware components with its interfaces
- Hardware – software interfaces
- Description of the microcontroller, memory, I/O devices and configuration(s) used

Software requirements |
- Description of all functional, safety and interface requirements of the software.

Software design |
- Description of the system design to cover operational features, as well as error handling
- Description of any timing or scheduling constraints
