Play Heads Up HockeyALWAYS LOOK FOR CSA MARK

CSA International has been certifying hockey helmets, facemasks and visors for over 25 years - accompanied by dramatic reductions in the number of reported head and eye injuries.

The CSA mark means that a product has been tested to a safety-related standard before being sold to you.

CHECK OUT THESE HELMET TIPS:

1. Choose a comfortable feeling helmet that sits 1/2 inch above the eyebrow and fits snug to prevent shifting.
2. Always fasten the chinstrap so that it gently makes contact under the chin.

3. Don't alter the equipment. Cutting the wire of the facemask weakens the whole structure.
4. Certain facemasks have been designed to go with certain models of helmets. Make sure you have the right match.

5. Remember any helmet with a break or crack must be replaced.
