Tips to help with your certification projects
There are several ways you can help make the certification process as quick and cost-effective as possible:
Get to know the standards
Determine the standards that apply to your product in your target markets, and then get to know the specific requirements. Contact Customer Service at CSA International for help in identifying the specific standards--CSA, IEC and others. To order standards and related certification bulletins, contact our Standard Sales department or you may order them directly at our On-line Store.
Pre-test your products
Early testing can help you identify problems that might delay product certification. If you don't have test facilities, contact a CSA International representative for help. There's an added benefit to doing your pre-testing through CSA International: those early test results may be used later in the certification process, provided that the requirements haven't changed in the meantime.
Provide supporting material
When submitting your product samples for certification, include detailed data sheets, marketing and sales materials, photographs, and instructions for use. You can submit your supporting material in hardcopy or electronic format.
Ask the experts
Take advantage of our Technical Information Service (TIS). Whether you're a new customer or an existing customer with a new product, this customized, confidential service puts our certification experts to work for you-examining specifications and prototypes, advising on standards, and providing practical training for your product team.
Use components that are certified by CSA International
Take full advantage of the proven track record of your components. Be sure to identify all components that are already certified by CSA International.
